Our vision is to provide a learning environment that facilitates students' artistic and civic development, nurtures the creative process, and promotes critical thinking.
The Department of Drama at UNC Asheville supports a holistic theatre education with the goal of producing creative, knowledgeable, and collaborative theatre artists who understand their responsibilities to their community, their art, and their personal growth. All students share a common core of classes that help establish critical thinking skills with a sense of aesthetics. These learned skills are then applied in our laboratory, the mainstage productions. The mainstage shows have auditions that are open to the entire UNC Asheville community, and we invite all in the Asheville area to attend.
AUDITIONS FOR OUR FALL PRODUCTIONS WILL BE HELD THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES. AUGUST 22ND & 23RD BETWEEN 6PM AND 10PM. A SIGN UP SHEET WILL BE POSTED ON THE BELK PRODUCTION BOARD ON AUGUST 20TH. SCRIPTS ARE ON RESERVE FOR A TWO HOUR CHECKOUT AT RAMSEY LIBRARY. AUDITIONS ARE OPEN TO ALL UNCA STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF. FOR MORE INFORMATION, CALL SUZIE AT 828.251.6610.
